Eames Demetrios | Kymaerica and the Kcymaerxthaere

Eames Demetrios wears many different hats. He is an filmmaker, artist, writer and scale exponent. In the design community he is best known as the director of the Eames Office, founded by the legendary design team of Charles and Ray Eames. In that role, Demetrios spearheaded the successful re-discovery of the Charles and Ray Eames design legacy by new generations around the world–with a particular emphasis on communicating the Eames design philosophy. Demetrios has lectured in over 32 countries on design, scale and his own work. He consults and teaches on the notion that Scale is the New Geography. He has made over 40 short films, and continues to do so. But his current large scale project is the creation of global work of 3 dimensional story telling, a parallel universe called Kcymaerxthaere. Kcymaerxthaere is a multi-pronged and ongoing work of three-dimensional fiction–like a novel where every page is in a different place (so far 74 place in 13 countries). Whatever hat Demetrios wears, it reflects his passion to remind us to see the richness and possibilities of the world. He currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two children.
