Perri Tutelman was named one of Canada’s Top 20 under Twenty 2010 for her efforts as an accomplished scientist and philanthropist. Since the age of 14, Perri has been a contributing researcher at the B.C. Cancer Research Centre, and has developed a novel combination treatment for cancer. Her work was recognized nationally when she placed first at the 2009 Canada-Wide Science Fair. Perri continues to research at the University of British Columbia where she investigates the role of hormones in auto-immune disorders through the use of transgenic models. Beyond the lab, Perri is the founder of the Cures for Kids Foundation, a non-profit organization that raises funds and awareness for pediatric life-threatening illnesses. Cures for Kids recently received a national award of innovation from the Art of Living Foundation. Perri is headed towards future success in treating pediatric illnesses through contributing to and funding the research that makes it possible.
